Description

Malham Poncho knit kit

Our Malham Poncho Knit Kit is fabulously fast, stunningly stylish and extraordinarily easy. The poncho pattern uses knit and purl stitches to create a basic technique called stocking stitch; it’s made in one rectangle, then folded and seamed together. There’s a simple cable that runs through it, so it’s great if you want to learn cabling for the first time, or just get some practice in. You’ll also learn how to add in a new ball of yarn, and how to finish and tidy up your project.

About the kit

Our kits are designed to be totally user friendly right out of the bag – ready to give as a gift, or keep and make yourself. You’ll get everything needed to make your project – yarn, needles, pattern and help cards – and it all comes in your own special cotton project bag: perfect for storing your work in progress or giving as a gift – no wrapping required.

Designed with newbie knitters in mind, the Malham Poncho Knit Kit pattern is straightforward and jargon-free. The pattern gives you extra information about how to make your poncho, and is supported with a set of instructables: step by step reference cards that will help the beginner knitter with all the skills needed.

The poncho kit uses lovely smooth bamboo needles and your colour choice of either Debbie Bliss Roma/Roma Weave or Rowan Big Wool yarn – both beautiful yarns. Roma is a beautiful super chunky blend of 70% merino wool and 30% alpaca, and Big wool is a super soft 100% merino wool. They’re beautifully soft and bouncy, and they knit up fast, meaning you get a real sense of achievement and satisfaction as your project quickly comes together.

I have really loved these knitting kits such that I keep reordering. I began with wrist warmers and a bobble hat. My husband and daughter then wanted the same…….(just the hat for my husband). The hat is chunky yarn and knits in a day….honestly. And it is so cute and cosy. I use the wrist warmers all the time. Really stylish and much more practical than gloves. My latest is the poncho in blackberry the most fab mix of colours imaginable. Just stitched it together tonight and it is awesome. Can’t wait to wear it. Eileen, Facebook)
